NY Paid Leave Benefit Updates for 2021

Effective January 1, 2021, eligible employees will be able to take up to 12 weeks of Paid Family Leave at 67% of their average weekly wage.  The NY PFL benefit is capped at 67% of the Statewide Average Weekly Wage of $1,450.17 ($75,408.84 annual average wage). The maximum weekly benefit amount for 2021 increases to $971.61.

The 2021 payroll contribution is 0.511% of an employee’s gross wages each pay period.  Payroll contributions are capped at an annual maximum employee contribution of $385.34.
