New York State Sexual Harassment Training

Mandatory Training for All Employees

Every employer in New York State is required to provide employees with sexual harassment prevention training by October 9, 2019.  We recommend all employers in NYS visit, explore and utilize the New York Department of Labor dedicated website, “Combating Sexual Harassment in the Workplace”, as it provides all the necessary training materials to comply with the law.   These free resources will satisfy the New York State sexual harassment training requirements.

The sexual harassment training is available in various formats on the dedicated website including MS Word, PDF and MS PowerPoint.

Additionally, there are training videos available that may be watched via YouTube or downloaded which meet all the minimum training requirements except the videos are not interactive.  If you choose to  use the videos to satisfy the training requirements, you must also ask questions of employees or accommodate questions asked by employees, with answers provided in an timely manner or provide a feedback survey for employees to complete.
