Webinar: Final Forms & Instructions for ACA Reporting
Marshall & Sterling E-Alerts - Keeping You in the Know
The IRS recently released the final 1094 & 1095 series forms and instructions for Affordable Care Act (ACA) Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC) and Applicable Large Employer (ALE) reporting. These forms are first due in January 2016 for coverage offered in calendar year 2015.
The long anticipated finalized forms and instructions for 2015 reporting are largely unchanged from the previously released draft versions. However, there are several notable updates and clarifications on existing requirements to be aware of as tax season approaches.
As a reminder, all employers who had 50 or more FTEs in 2014 must report on 2015 employer plan and employee coverage data.
The forms remain detailed and demanding and penalties for noncompliance are steeper than ever. With reporting deadlines looming, NOW is the time to ensure that your company is prepared.
Please watch as Dannielle O'Toole, Esq., Marshall & Sterling's in-house Health Care Reform counsel, reviews the final forms and instructions, highlighting areas of ambiguity and special complexity, in order to assist employers in preparing to file accurate and timely reports.
Some topics the webinar covers:
Guidance on reporting offers of COBRA continuation coverage
Clarification on HRA reporting obligations
Updated rules for ALEs who contribute to multi-employer health plans
Explanation of the newly-increased penalties for failing to satisfy reporting requirements
